Symbaloo

Overview
Symbaloo is a tool that lets users create or use existing 'webmixes'. A webmix is a page of links displayed in sleek buttons with icons or logs. The format is easy to use and very familar to users of mobile devices.

The user can drag and drop items to suit their purpose and organise them in a way that is convenient and practical.
Users can set a webmix as a homepage, share links or embed into a web page or class blog.
Users can access an online resource with a single click!

The visual format is a great hit with students, and easier and quicker to navigate  Many appreciate the visual format, which is faster and much easier to navigate and digest than text links. Others also noted that no matter which  browser they viewed their Symbaloo webmix in, it always looked the same.  Consistency is another attractive benefit, especially within a BYOT environment and for users who switch between different computers or browsers.

Symbaloo is an ancient Greek verb meaning 'gathering' 'assembling'.  With Symbaloo users can collect and organise bookmarks on  the internet and share them with a class.

Symbaloo wemixes are great for
  • differentiated learning
  • self paced learning
  • flipped classroom
You can even set a Symbaloo Webmix as your homepage. A great way for students to quickly access links and resources.
