Commonwealth Games Resources

Your school is invited to participate in an exciting opportunity to involve your students in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Through Commonwealth Games online, your students will be able to participate in interactive learning opportunities including chats with Australian athletes, coaches and other sporting identities.

Scheduled from 21 July to 1 August 2014, Commonwealth Games online will run concurrently with Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, allowing your students to talk with guests in real time and take part directly in the excitement and energy of the international event.

Commonwealth Games online is one of the Commonwealth Games activities being hosted on the Department of Education, Training and Employment’s (DETE) online learning environment the Learning Place. It is part of DETE’s Embracing 2018 Global Education Program which aims to create rich, real world and diverse learning experiences for students in Queensland schools while building momentum towards the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™.

If you are interested in participating in the Commonwealth Games online please let me know IMMEDIATELY as I have passwords to access this via the Learning Place for only the first TWENTY schools. My email is lwilkinson@isq.qld.edu.au or see my signature below.

You can also showcase your school’s participation in Embracing 2018 Global Education Program activities through the Game On Scotland Game On Challenge and have your school ‘pinned’ on an interactive map alongside other entries from across the Commonwealth.

Visit DETE’s website for more information about Embracing 2018 Global Education Program activities including Game On Scotland and Embrace a Commonwealth country.
